Many women carry cysts in their ovaries without their ever being aware of it. Cysts are accidentally discovered during routine investigation, or are found in course of investigations conducted for other pelvic disorders. Oral contraceptives are encouraged by many doctors as these are supposed to prevent formation of follicles that turn into cysts.
