Women
of all ages are affected by ovarian cysts. In fact,
these are a common thing among the females especially
during their childbearing period. These cysts may vary
from a few centimeters in diameter to the size of an
apple. An ovarian
cyst is basically a collection of
fluids within the ovary and they remain surrounded by a
very thin wall.
The
cysts develop when your natural and normal development
of egg cells go wayward. Follicles or cyst like
structures generate normally every month, and they
release the progesterone and estrogen hormones that are
necessary to stimulate the release of eggs. However, if
they continue to grow, they form into
cyst.
Yes,
it is a fact that these cysts are common and quite
harmless. However in some cases, there can be
complications, and when this happens, it can be a
complex ovarian cyst. The complex ovarian
cyst can cause serious health issues, and more so if
they get ruptured. Often these types of cysts keep
growing and become too large, and they have both liquid
and solid components within them.
These
types of cysts can be classified into 3 groups, and they
are
- Dermoid
- Cystadenomas
- Endometrioma
Types
Of Ovarian Cysts And Their
Complications
1.
Dermoid
cysts
The
dermoid cysts are formed from the egg cell of women.
Ovarian cells have the capacity to build every type of
tissue within the human body, and this is why skin,
teeth and hair tissues can be found in dermoid cysts.
While there is little chance of developing into
cancerous cells, but they are still very painful. They
often become twisted too, and these are the
complexities.
2.
Cystadenomas
cysts
The
cystadenomas ovarian cysts are filled with liquid and
they can cause immense pain because they gradually twist
the ovaries. While some cysts can grow as big as 3
inches in diameter, there are others that are known as
'mucinous' cystadenomas that can grow to about 12
inches. These growths are also very sticky and full of
gelatin.
3.
Endometrioma
cysts
Some
women have these cysts too. They grow in the uterine
cells on the outer part of the uterus, and remain stuck
to the ovary and develop with the menstruation cycle.
Some common symptoms include pain from a couple of days
prior to even after the menstruation, fatigue, pain
during the intercourse, painful bowel moment and
irregular periods.

Treatment
For Ovarian Cysts
The common
treatment for ovarian cysts
is of course through conventional remedies. The doctor
will examine the pelvic region and will then ask for
some tests such as ultrasonography for confirmation.
There can be some pregnancy and blood tests too. The
pregnancy test is done to diagnose ectopic pregnancy if
any, and the blood test is to find out whether there is
any cancerous cyst or not. Once diagnosed, your
treatment will depend upon the severity of the cysts. In
extreme cases, surgery is also often
recommended.
The
conventional method of treating complex ovarian cysts
has various side effects, and often they do not work as
well. Surgery is an option, but this can also cause
complications. There are many who are now turning to
holistic remedies. In this, the root causes of the
problem are delved into, and once found, the right
solution is prescribed to treat the body as a whole.
Since the root causes are targeted and not just the
symptoms, holistic remedies always give permanent
results. And these methods are completely safe
too.
