Ovarian cysts, as a rule,
affect women of all ages though women in their
child-bearing ages fall victim to it more. Even though
there could be many symptoms, which
are described below, to pin point the existence of cysts
in the ovary, one should not depend on the symptoms
alone. This is because in many cases involving ovarian
cysts, there are no symptoms at all. The worst part
of the whole story entails problems other than cysts
like PID (Pelvic Inflammatory Disease), Ectopic
Pregnancy or even ovarian cancer
.
However, let us get into the
brass tacks, and discuss some of the common ovarian cyst
symptoms as
detailed below.
·
Menstrual irregularity, even
stoppage is a sure shot symptom of cysts in the
ovary.
·
Pelvic pain immediate before the
period and during the end of it.
·
Painful bowel movement and undue
pressure on rectum
·
Difficulty in urination (due to
pressure on the urinary bladder)
·
Tenderness in the breast akin to
what happens during later stage of
pregnancy
·
Heaviness or fullness in the
abdomen
·
Nausea and vomiting either in the
morning or in late evening
·
Undue fatigue
·
Inability to
conceive
·
Hirsutism (unwanted facial hair or
excessive body hair)
·
Loss of scalp
hair
·
Headache
·
Bloating.
Nevertheless, as earlier
mentioned, a woman affected with ovarian cysts
may not display any of the above symptoms, and
yet may be a victim of the ovarian cyst syndrome. In the
United
States, ovarian cysts
or PCOS is
prevalent in almost all pre-menopausal women and in up
to 14.8% of postmenopausal females
.
Cyst treatment or treating the
symptoms is the approach of conventional as well as
natural treatments. The problem however with this
approach is that, the contributing factors remain
unattended, while the treatment seeks to do away with
the symptoms. And
so, the cyst often returns. Holistic remedies on the
other hand, treat the root causes and so, once these
causes go away, the cyst never comes back
again.
