Polycystic ovarian syndrome
(PCOS) is the condition in which cysts develop in the
ovaries of a woman. This condition is common among women
who are in their reproductive age. This syndrome
requires urgent treatment as it may lead even to
infertility, which can of course be quite disastrous.
Other health problems associated with the PCOS syndrome
include obesity, insulin resistance, pelvic pain, skin
discoloration, irregular periods, excess growth of hair,
extra skin at the armpits and neck area, male pattern
baldness and other health issues.
There are a number of PCOS treatment
options
, so there is really no reason why
you should be worried about it. Women with PCOS opt for
alternative treatments that include acupuncture and
aromatherapy. Surgery is also an option for certain
women as they go for hysterectomy, a process in which
the ovary with the cysts is removed or both the ovary
and the cervix may also be removed. Birth control pills
are also taken as a
means for relief from the syndrome.
If you want to go for a
natural treatment, keep a check on the food you eat. It
should be free from saturated fats and trans-fats, and
low on carbohydrates and calories. Also have less sugar;
the idea is to lose weight. It is also very essential to
have enough exercise. There are natural treatments which
suggest the use of herbs too.
Or you may want to try out
holistic remedies. According to reports, holistic
remedies give the best results for PCOS and its allied
problems. Conventional as well as natural treatments
make the serious mistake of treating the symptoms only,
and not the root causes, and because of this, the PCOS
problems returns even after the removal of the symptoms.
But this does not happen with holistic remedies as the
root causes and not the symptoms are
treated.
